As a young teen, my father persuaded me to pursue nursing. During that time period the nursing shortage of the nineteen nineties highlighted the critical need for nurses. Admittedly I was hesitant, however after the first class I was wholeheartedly in love with nursing. During that first day at Bucks County Community College, my instructor boldly spoke about the difference between the art and the science of nursing. The convergence of art and science in nursing has been my driving force throughout my career to serve and care for fellow humans in a manner consistent with compassion and knowledge. My essential beliefs to provide care by way of kindness, respect, dignity, empathy, altruism, and integrity has undeniably allowed for my passion for optimal care to carry forth throughout my career. The path leading to today has led through many specialties in nursing including emergency care, hospice, pediatrics, homecare, and, subsequently, landing in my true passion for adolescent mental health. My vision is a culmination of all of my experiences both personal and professional, leading to a fierce passion to help youth on their journey to optimal mental health in this dynamic and stressful time period.
